What kinds of doughnuts do you make?
We handcraft several styles of doughnuts fresh daily, including yeast, cake, filled, vegan sourdough, and gluten-free cake doughnuts.
Yeast doughnuts are light, airy, and yeast-raised, with a slight chew.
Cake doughnuts are leavened with baking powder, with a texture somewhere between a classic birthday cake and a buttery pound cake.
Filled doughnuts are filled with house-made jams, creams, and custards.
Our vegan Sourdoughnuts™ are naturally leavened using sourdough fermentation rather than commercial yeast, creating a more complex flavor and distinctive chewy texture. Unlike traditional sourdough breads, they are not sour — our sourdough starter is carefully maintained to create balance, depth of flavor, and a distinctive texture without the tanginess typically associated with sourdough.
Our gluten-free cake doughnuts are made without gums, artificial dough improvers, eggs, or soy. Instead of relying on processed additives to recreate texture, we build it naturally through ingredients, time, and technique.
How fresh are your doughnuts? How long do they last?
Our doughnuts are made throughout the day without preservatives or artificial dough improvers, so they’re best enjoyed the day they’re made.
Because we make everything from scratch using real ingredients, the texture and flavor are at their best fresh.
Can I keep them in the fridge?
We don’t recommend it. Our doughnuts are best enjoyed at room temperature. Refrigeration can dry them out and change the texture.
Can I order online?
Yes. You can order online for pickup or local delivery throughout New York City at order.doughnutplant.com or through the Doughnut Plant app.
We offer both same-day and advance ordering. Our online ordering pages for each shop reflect that location’s current inventory in real time. Because we make and deliver doughnuts fresh throughout the day, flavors may temporarily sell out and return later as new deliveries arrive.
For the best selection — especially for seasonal flavors, weekends, and larger orders — we strongly recommend pre-ordering in advance.
Orders can be placed for ASAP pickup or delivery, later the same day, or up to a week in advance depending on shop hours and availability.
Where in NYC do you deliver?
We currently deliver to neighborhoods located near our shops and are continuing to expand our delivery zones.

What if I don't live in NYC? Do you ship your doughnuts?
Yes — we ship our cake doughnuts nationwide through Goldbelly.
Our doughnuts are made fresh daily without preservatives or artificial ingredients. After extensive testing, we found our cake doughnuts ship beautifully while maintaining the quality and texture we expect.
Our original yeast and square filled doughnuts are best experienced fresh in person. We’re committed to making the best doughnuts possible, and shipping them nationwide simply wouldn’t do them justice.
No preservatives. No shortcuts. Just fresh doughnuts made to be enjoyed at their best.

Are your doughnuts vegetarian?
Yes. All Doughnut Plant doughnuts are vegetarian — and egg-free.
We never use eggs, artificial dough improvers, or preservatives.
Do you have vegan doughnuts?
Yes. Our Sourdoughnuts™ are vegan unless otherwise noted.
We spent years developing a naturally leavened vegan doughnut with the texture and flavor we wanted — without compromise. Our vegan doughnuts are fried separately from our non-vegan doughnuts, though they are made in the same bakery.
What makes your gluten-free doughnuts different?
We make gluten-free doughnuts the same way we approach everything at Doughnut Plant: with real ingredients and careful technique.
Instead of relying on processed texture-enhancing additives like gums, emulsifiers, or artificial dough improvers, we build it naturally through ingredients, time, and technique.
No gums. No artificial dough improvers. No eggs or soy.
Are your doughnuts certified gluten-free?
No. While our gluten-free doughnuts are made in a separate room using dedicated gluten-free ingredients and fried in separate fryers, our bakery is not a certified gluten-free facility.
Because there is still potential for cross-contact, we do not recommend our gluten-free doughnuts for guests with celiac disease or severe gluten sensitivities.
Additional notes:
- We use buckwheat and rice flours.
- Our facility is not dairy-free, gluten-free, or nut-free.
- We do not use xanthan gum, guar gum, eggs, or soy in our gluten-free doughnuts.
Do your doughnuts contain nuts?
Some of our doughnuts contain nuts or peanuts, and seasonal flavors may as well. Please ask a doughnut server if you have questions about specific flavors.
All doughnuts are made in a bakery where nuts are present and stored, so cross-contact is possible.
Do you have more allergen information?
- All Doughnut Plant doughnuts except our gluten-free varieties contain gluten.
- Many doughnuts contain dairy; our vegan Sourdoughnuts™ do not.
- Our Peanut Butter & Jam and Peanut Butter & Banana Cream doughnuts contain peanuts.
- Carrot Cake contains walnuts.
- Chocolate Chip Cookie contains pecans.
- Oatmeal contains cashews.
- Seasonal flavors may also contain nuts or peanuts.
All doughnuts are made in a bakery where nuts are present and stored, so cross-contact is possible.
All Doughnut Plant doughnuts are vegetarian and egg-free.
Do you offer custom orders?
Yes. We offer customizable letter doughnuts, Ripples, mini cake doughnuts, and other special order options.
Please place custom orders at least 72 hours in advance. Orders are processed Monday through Friday from 9am–4pm.

Do you offer gift cards?
Yes. Gift cards are available through our app and online at Doughnut Plant Gift Cards.
Do you have nutritional information?
Because our doughnuts are handcrafted in small batches and naturally vary in size and weight, we’re unable to provide precise nutritional information.
All jams, fillings, and glazes are made in-house from scratch. None of our doughnuts contain trans fat.
Is Doughnut Plant kosher?
Yes, Doughnut Plant is certified Kosher by IKC International Kosher Council.
Our doughnuts are Kosher Dairy, and our Vegan Sourdoughnuts are Kosher and Pareve.

What is your refund and cancellation policy?
For advance local pickup & delivery orders:
Orders canceled less than 24 hours before the scheduled pickup or delivery time are non-refundable, including changes made to future orders.
Nationwide Shipping Orders:
All nationwide shipping orders are final sale.
Changes or cancellations must be made at least 3 days before the scheduled delivery date.
Doughnut Plant is not responsible for shipping delays caused by weather, mechanical issues, carrier errors, strikes, natural disasters, or incorrect shipping information.
